Lorne Everett (Jim) Babcock Sr., 82, of Melfort, Saskatchewan, passed away 12 September, 2023 at Selkirk Seniors Village, Victoria, BC.
No funeral service will be held. Interment of ashes for Lorne Sr. will occur 1 August, 2024 in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Melfort.
Lorne Sr. was born in Melfort to Mervin and Margaret Babcock on 20 August, 1941. He worked in numerous fields such as framing, mining, livery, oil & gas, produce, and security services. He enjoyed amateur radio, carpentry, computers and philosophy. He served for a very short period in the Royal Canadian Corp of Signals in 1961-1962. He was a graduate of The Footwear Institute of Canada. He was awarded the 12-year Long Standing Medal with the Corp of Commissionaires of Canada.
Lorne Sr. is survived by his children Lorne Jr., Micheal and Trevor, Daughter In-Law Dawn, Grandchildren Phillip and Alex, Jessica, Amanda and Micheal Jr. He is preceded in death by his Wife Caroline, Father Mervin and Mother Margaret, Brother Barry and Sister Goldie, Son Todd and Daughter Shelley.
