Obituary
Gloria Arlene Korchinski, 73, of Burgis Beach, lost her battle to Alzheimers disease on October 20th, 2024. She was born on May 7, 1951 to the late Fred and Rosie Kitchen ( nee Stetski).
Gloria grew up on a farm near Burgis Beach with her parents and older sister Marlene Kosar.
Gloria attended school in Canora and graduated in 1969. In 1972, Gloria met the love of her life Vic Korchinski and they were married on April 27, 1974 and together they had 4 children.
Gloria was a diligent worker while also being an amazing homemaker to her four children. She was kind, and warm hearted, with a friendly smile and a great sense of humour. She was an avid card player with friends and family and an amazing cook. She could always be heard fluently speaking Ukrainian to her Mother and sister on the phone. She had a love of watching all of the boys hockey games, she also enjoyed catching sun rays while sitting on the deck and attending to her garden.
Vic and Gloria would enjoy going for walks and evening bike rides and meeting for coffee with friends, they also enjoyed travelling and went to Hawaii three times.
Gloria worked at Canora Courier during the early 70’s, then Bergs Chick Hatchery, Canora Hospital and the Gateway Lodge up until her retirement in 2017. Above all, she was a loving wife, Mother, and Grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She welcomed her first grandchild in 1999 and it brought her so much joy to babysit him.
As per her wishes, there will be no formal services at this time. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Gloria Korchinski.
