It is with great sorrow that the family of Duran Brian William Polowich announces his sudden passing at the age of 32 on June 25, 2024, in Canora, Saskatchewan. Known for his culinary talent, relentless sense of humor, passion for the outdoors, and generous spirit, Duran will be deeply missed by many.
Duran was born to Brian and Jacalyn Polowich on November 26, 1991, at 11:40 a.m., followed momentarily by his twin brother, Dylan, at Regina General Hospital.
Duran led an active life on the farm north of Norquay, SK. He had a wide circle of friends and actively participated in school sports and activities such as basketball, badminton, and hockey. His true passions included anything outdoors or motor-related: hunting, trucks, golfing, and his cherished activities of snowmobiling and quadding. He spent his summers at the lake, enjoying tubing, boating, and fishing with his family and grandparents.
Following his graduation from Norquay School in 2010, Duran pursued post-secondary education and proudly earned his journeyman electrician certification in Moose Jaw, SK. He dedicated much of his career to industrial construction in Yorkton, SK, but also worked in Saskatoon, Cold Lake, Regina, and Melville. He most recently resided in Canora, SK.
Duran is survived by his parents, Brian and Jacalyn Polowich; siblings: his sister, Lindsay (David), and niece Harper, sister Kirsten, and twin brother, Dylan; and his grandmother, Darcia Polowich. Also mourning his loss are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, pets, and friends.
Duran was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Anne Markewich, and grandfather, Ernie Polowich; his uncle, Charles Markewich; and his late sister, Rhianna Polowich.
A private celebration of life will be held to honour Duran’s memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Duran’s name to the Canadian Mental Health Association -Saskatchewan Division, or to another charity of choice.
