Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of the late Bill Bodnarchuk, beloved husband of Iris Bodnarchuk, announce his passing at the Canora Hospital on January 15, 2024, at the age of 93 years.
Bill was born on October 8, 1930, to John and Katherine (nee Wolos) Bodnarchuk, on the family homestead north of Canora, SK. He was the second eldest of five boys. He attended Brenna school until grade 8.
On October 22, 1956, Bill married Iris Wintoniak. Together, they made their home in Mikado and Arran, Saskatchewan and Durban and Pine River, Manitoba, as Bill worked as an elevator agent (grain buyer) for National and Cargill Grain. He retired from the elevator in 1988 and Bill and Iris moved to Canora in 1989 for their golden years.
He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and the many cherished memories will be held close to the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Bill was predeceased by his parents, John and Katherine; and his brothers: Peter, Mike, Paul, and Ed.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Iris Bodnarchuk; four daughters: Grace (Keith) Hancharyk, Vi (Ken) Hack, Della Maude (Marty), and Fidelia (Ron) Gayleard; grandchildren: Brad, Brent (Laura), Bryce, Ryan (Joy), Colin, Jordan (Julie), Sarah, Emily, and Cameron; six great-grandchildren: Aiden, Paige, Sedra, Ember, Bransen, and Brooklyn; his sister-in-law, Florence Bodnarchuk; niece, Kim (Rex) Fiala; and nephew, Greg (Roanne) Bodnarchuk.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024, from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK, with Pastor Greg Bright officiating. Interment will follow in the Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the S.T.A.R.S. Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Bill Bodnarchuk.
