It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doreen Ucker, 83, on September 21, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her death. Doreen (nee Downton) was born in Bishop’s Falls Newfoundland and left home to study nursing in Nova Scotia. She moved to Montreal where she met and married her husband, Alban Ucker (1938-2016) and built a happy family. Doreen’s two daughters Anita (Robert Lewis) and Lisa (Graham Webb), her grandsons Liam and Mitchel Webb, and family in both Newfoundland and Germany mourn her passing. The family is sincerely grateful to the excellent care and compassion provided by nurse Jennifer Perron from the CLSC, Dr. Croulard, Dr. Buhlaiga and the Oncology Department of the Lakeshore General Hospital.
