PLANCHE, Donald William (Bill)
1926 – 2024
February 12, 1926 – October 4, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Dad’s passing at the age of 98. Loving husband of Evelyn who passed in 2016. Cherished father of Don (Susan Towne) and Jane (Fred Lazier). Devoted grandfather (DoDo) to Lindsay, Tim (Marie), Sean (Raphaelle). Sabrina (Ryan), Mackenzie (deceased) and Alex.
Dad was predeceased by his two brothers, Jimmy and Ross.
Born in East Angus, Quebec to Irene Alberta Ross and Gordon James Planche. Dad worked 42 years for Ingersol-Rand in Sherbrooke, Quebec. After living in Belvedere Heights and Lennoxville until his retirement, he and Mom then moved to Pointe Claire to be closer to their family. In 2017 Dad moved to the Maxwell Residence in Baie d’Urfe.
Dad loved to watch his grandchildren play their sports and never missed a Habs’ game or a Blue Jays’ game on TV.
Special thanks to all the wonderful staff and friends at the Maxwell Residence. You all made dad’s every day better.
A celebration of life will take place at the Cass Funeral Home in Lennoxville on May 3rd, 2025.
