Obituary of Doris Young (nee Gardiner)
It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Doris on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 her 96th year. She passed away peacefully at the Pontiac community hospital. Predeceased by her husband Graham, her son Randy “Bim” (Fern) and sister Bernice. She is survived by her son Ralph (Connie) and grandson Riley (Erin).
She was born in Bryson, Quebec, graduated from Saint Joseph’s Manor on Alumette Island and started working as a school teacher on Calumet Island. She then married and moved to Renfrew, Ontario where she continued teaching before spending many years employed by Dr. Hayhurst Dental office. While in Renfrew, Doris was heavily involved with Ralph and Bim’s sports activities and became an avid hockey fan never missing a game. She finished her working days with the federal government in Ottawa and then retired to Norway Bay with Graham where they enjoyed many years with great friends and neighbours.
At Doris’s request there will be no funeral but a private service in the summer at the Norway Bay Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Catholic Church.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Doris
