With heavy hearts the family of Raffaele Gallinaro announce his peaceful passing on July 17, 2024 age 81, at Ottawa General Hospital with loved ones at his side. Beloved husband of Anna Gallinaro (nee Paliotta) for 56 years. Cherished father of Lisa (Louis Larocque). Son of the late Antonio and Giuseppina (Carrandente Giarrusso) Gallinaro, brother to Lina (Franco Perlino). Fondly remembered by treasured nieces, nephews, relatives and cherished friends.
Raffaele was born in Gaeta, Italy in 1943 and served 2 years in the Italian Marina Militare stationed in both Taranto and Rome. He later began his trade as a tailor in Italy and in 1966 then immigrated to Canada where he opened his tailor shop in Montreal.
During his life, Raffaele touched the lives of all with his sincere, gentle nature and his infectious happy outlook on life. His memory will live on in all our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 9:30 am at Magnus Poirier Funeral Home, 7388 Viau Blvd., St. Leonard, Quebec H1S 2N9 followed at 11:00 am by the funeral service at Our Lady of Pompei, 2875 Sauve St. East, Montreal, Quebec H2B 1C6.
Interment at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery, 4601 Chemin Cote Des Neiges, Montreal, Quebec H2B 1C4 (Esther-Blondin Mausoleum) at 1:15 p.m.
