Morris Libstug
On Monday, October 2, 2023, in his eighty-ninth year. Devoted husband of the late Bella Birnbaum and the late Mary-Lee Wasserman. Beloved father and father-in-law of Stewart and Nina Libstug. Dear brother of Nellie Miller and twin brother of Saul Libstug (the late Annalea Libstug); and brother-in-law of the late Jean and the late David Zwirek. Morrie had a special relationship with Nina’s family, Antonio and Santina Ragusa, Pat and Roz, and their children, Samantha and Vito, Anthony and Alyssa, Emily and Justin. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends. Morrie was a fighter, dealing with many medical issues, but it made him stronger. He spent twenty years traveling around the world and spent many years wintering in Florida. The family would like to thank Stewart’s friends, Steven Kronish and Robert Fine, who had a large impact on Morrie’s life. Heartfelt gratitude to his doctors, Daniel Obrand, Elie Girsowicz, and Dominique Joyal, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cardiology and Internal Medicine Departments, and of K8 and K107 at the Jewish General Hospital for their care and kindness. Special thanks to Daniella and her Personal Touch team at the Steger Residence. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. The family will be receiving visitors Thursday following burial. Donations in Morrie’s memory may be made to the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.
