Peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024. Beloved husband of the late Sheila Mendelovitch for fifty-seven years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Mitchell and Shumi Lerner, Ellen Lerner and Larry Fernandes, Lori Lerner and Michael Kantor. Cherished Zaidie of Mathew and Carmen, and Justin Lerner, Dylan and Maya Kantor, Isabella Fernandes, and Shane Lerner. Proud great-grandfather of Ezra Lerner. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Roslyn and the late Jerry Lewis, the late Joey Lerner, the late Rita and late Martin Horwitz; brother-in-law of Harriet Wajcman, Marvin and Nelly Mendelovitch. Al will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and by all who knew and loved him. Special thanks to his incredible caregivers and the dedicated staff of 4S at the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Thursday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, Beth Hamedresh Hagodol Section, de la Savane.
