On March 23, Maria passed away peacefully at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence. She leaves behind her loving son Jimmy, daughter-in-law Mary, and grandchildren Sydney, Damian, and Dylan. She was predeceased by her husband Luigi Santo Marson.
Maria came to Toronto from a small town near Venice in her early 20s and met her future husband when visiting her cousin in Montreal. She enjoyed the company of family and friends and liked being out and about in the city’s shopping districts. However, the thing she loved most was being a mom to her son who was born after many years of trying to get pregnant.
Maria was kind, respectful, and generous, and will be missed by all. To honour her memory, a celebration of life will take place at the Voluntas Funeral Home, 4695 St-Jean Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, on Wednesday, April 3rd from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Défense Church, 6800 Henri-Julien, Montreal, QC, on Thursday, April 4th at 12 p.m. Burial to follow at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.

Le 23 mars, Maria est décédée paisiblement à la Résidence de soins palliatifs Teresa Dellar. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils bien-aimé Jimmy, sa belle-fille Mary et ses petits-enfants Sydney, Damian et Dylan. Maria est prédécédée par son mari, Luigi Santo Marson.
Maria est arrivée à Toronto en provenance d’un village près de Venice au début de ses vingtaines et a rencontré son futur mari lors d’une visite chez sa cousine à Montréal. Elle aimait être entourée de sa famille et de ses amis et elle aimait se balader dans les différents quartiers commerciaux de la ville. Mais ce qu’elle aimait le plus, c’était d’être maman de son fils qui est né après de nombreuses années à essayer de tomber enceinte.
Maria était gentille, respectueuse, et généreuse, et elle nous manquera beaucoup. Pour célébrer sa vie, la famille recevra parents et amis le mercredi 3 avril de 15h à 17h et de 19h à 21h au salon funéraire Voluntas, 4695, boul. St-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc H9H 2A7. Les funérailles seront célébrées en l’église Notre-Dame-de-la-Défense, 6800, Henri-Julien, Montréal, Qc, le jeudi 4 avril à 12h. La mise en crypte suivra au cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
