Jean Marc Arsenault, aged 91, passed away peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital on Friday, September 13, 2024. Born on July 24, 1933, Jean Marc grew up on Prince Edward Island, where he developed a passion for craftsmanship that would shape his career and his hobbies.
He served as an electrician for the Canadian Air Force before continuing his work with Air Canada, where he dedicated many years. His life’s journey took him to Sardinia, Italy, where he met the love of his life, Leonarda (Nanda) Caria, with whom he shared a loving marriage until her passing in 1990.
Jean Marc is predeceased by his siblings, Marie Anne (Alcide), Camille (Margaret), Rita (Frank), Manuel (Cécile), and Fidèle (Monique). He is lovingly remembered by his children, Paola (Gilles) and Richard (Marie-Ève), and his cherished grandchildren, Eric, Julie, Léonie, and Luca. He is also survived by his brother, André (late Mary), and sisters, Ita (late Gaëtan) and Dina (Jean-Paul). Jean Marc leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Jean Marc was a man of many talents, with a warm smile and a generous spirit. He was always eager to help others, a quality he took great pride in passing down to his children and grandchildren.
Jean Marc always had a deep love for family, valued hard work, and had a great sense of humor. In his later years, he discovered a passion for dancing, which opened the door to new friendships and a lifestyle which kept him active.
Visitation with the family will take place on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1:30 pm at Voluntas Commemoration, 4695 Boul. Saint-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9H 2A7. A remembrance ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. in the adjoining chapel, followed by a casual gathering in the reception area.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation in his memory. Although it may not appear in the drop-down menu, we encourage you to mention the Music Therapy Program, which provided special comfort to Jean Marc in his final moments.
