MARSHALL, Robert (Bob) John Wallace
2024-01-05
(1952-2024)
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) John Wallace Marshall, on January 5th, 2024, at the age of 71, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Johane Lavallée adored father of Sarah and Anne-Marie, buddy to his son-in-law Gino, and cherished GrandBob of Olivia, Giuliano and Eliana; he will also be missed by his sisters Dorothy and Diane, his siblings-in-law, his nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He has peacefully joined his parents Opal and Robert Marshall, his sisters Nancy and Evelyn, his brother Sammy, and other lost loved ones, including his faithful four-legged companions Abby and Bella.
As a man of few words and deep reflection, Bob always had an open ear and thoughtful advice. Although he mostly kept it to himself, he kept those he loved close to his heart, worrying about them and sharing in their joys.
Married 34 years, through their ups and downs, Bob made sure Johane felt his profound appreciation for her, until the very end.
He was the MVP of any trivia game night, an avid lover of golf, and Montreal history and architecture. Bob never ceased to impress us with his wealth of knowledge, varied interests and surprising wit.
In the summertime you would find him tending to his rose garden, his green grass and bird feeders. He was ready to lend a hand, be it with his handyman or Christmas decorating skills. He was a friend to the animals, not just his own, with many of his friends’ and family’s pets gravitating towards him for his affection.
He taught his girls more than he may have realized during their time together. His grandkids will grow to know their GrandBob and his gentle appreciation for the beauty in life.
