Susan passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at Sakura House on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Adoring wife of Paul Bradford for 48 beautiful, adventure-filled years.‘The force’ was with her as she had a long journey with Multiple Sclerosis and then later developed Parkinsonism. Susan was a gentle soul with an incredibly strong heart who loved deeply and gave freely. No one ever left her house without something to eat and a great big hug. She loved the many travels with so many friends along the way that gave her such a grateful heart and a laugh that was hard to forget, as it came from her toes! Susan was the second oldest of 6; Mary Cousins (Thomas), Bill Dickinson (Janet), Nancy Dickinson (Derek), Warren Dickinson (Bernadette) and Margaret Cadieux (Chris).
Susan was not only a mother, but a number-one cheerleader, mentor and best friend to Holly Weitzel (Chris Weitzel) and Crystal Bradford (Liam Kijewski). She is the cherished Grams to her granddaughter Mara Dori Weitzel, who brought so much happiness to her life.
Susan is predeceased by her parents, Violet Pearl Dickinson (Wilson) and Salem George Dickinson and many other friends and family who passed before her. She looks forward to dancing and singing with those she loves.
The family is so very thankful to Dr. Baker, Dr. Sondi, Dr. Fryer, the MS clinic brigade of professionals, Nurse Christine from St. Elizabeth, the countless PSW’s from VON and Bayshore and the absolute dream team of staff at Sakura House that made her last days so very comfortable.
As Susan always loved a party with good food and the people she loved, a celebration will be held on Friday, May 10 from 4pm to 7pm at Brock and Visser Funeral Home located at 845 Devonshire Avenue in Woodstock. There will be a moment of remembrance at 5pm. Please come and share your memories of Susan with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s legacy can be made to Sakura House Hospice or the MS Society of Canada.
