James Horsburgh Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Thomas Horsburgh, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Born on September 26, 1941, in Motherwell, Scotland.
James passed peacefully with his children at his side on March 22, 2024, in Woodstock, Ontario.
James is survived by his loving wife, Jean Wright (and her children). Survived by sons Kenneth (Marnie) and John and his daughters Leslie (Paul) and Jacqueline (Anthony). His joy was multiplied through his many grandchildren—Joshua (Stephanie), Kaely (Nathan), Megan, Jordann, Stephanie, Christopher, Talia, Riley, Alexandra, and Raider, and great-grandchildren, Bentley and Ezra. James is also survived by his brother Ian Horsburgh and family.
James enjoyed painting, building birdhouses, and was a fan of F1 racing. He found peace and pleasure in walking his dog through Memorial Forest every day as well.
James will be remembered for his humour, intelligence, and adventurous nature. His memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
Jean writes,
“Dearest James, thank you for the 10 years we spent together. It was a privilege to be with such a courageous, strong, and dependable man. Our mutual love of Jesus gives me comfort because I know where you are now.
See you again soon, Jean.”
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
