Helen Ann Weeks, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, just after her 94th birthday at Secord Trails in Ingersoll, Ontario. She was a strong individual that fought for her independence until the end.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard (Dick) Weeks (2005), with whom she shared over 53 years of marriage, a journey filled with mutual devotion and enduring affection. Together, they built a life rich in memories which included their trips to Florida in their motor home accompanied by Dad’s cousin Pat.
Mom worked at Woodstock General Hospital during high school and after graduation, which she still recalled with many memories of her fellow workers.
Survived by her daughters, Julie Triemstra and her husband Wayne, and Brenda Harris and her husband John. She was the proud grandmother to four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Helen also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sister Irene and her best friend Margaret. Mom’s final years were filled with sharing fond memories of her sister and the years growing up on Finkle Street and rolller skating days with her friend Margaret as they travelled to many rinks and made many friendships.
Mom found joy in her garden and took pride in tending to her plants and flowers. Even the task of cutting the grass well into her 80’s brought her joy.
The family extends gratitude to the staff at Secord Trails in Ingersoll for their care. Their dedication to Helen in her final years provided comfort not only to her but also to those who loved her.
As per Helen’s wishes, there will be a private immediate family graveside service held for Helen.
Friends and family are welcome to make a memorial donation to a charity of their choice.
