It is with broken hearts and overwhelming grief that the family of Frances Trew announce her passing at the home of her youngest daughter, Valerie on Friday, April 12, 2024. She was cared for and surrounded by her loving family in the last few weeks of her life.
Frances was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Tommy & Jessie McCabe on March 16, 1937. She and the love of her life Jack Trew moved to Canada in 1956, and that is where their love story continued until Jack’s passing in September 2016.
Frances leaves behind her adoring daughters, Janice (Rick), Linda (Paul), and Valerie (Steve). Also mourning her loss are her beautiful grandchildren, Dustin (Natasha), Elisha (Matt), Nikki (Mike), Devon (Jess), Brendan (Abby), and Claire (Santosh). She was also blessed with 3 cherished great-grandchildren, Corbin (Hailey), Evelyn and Wren; whom she loved dearly. She will be sorely missed by her dear sister Una & family. Frances also leaves behind a large, loving family in Northern Ireland as well as special family members in Ontario and New York.
Frances was a devoted parishioner of Old St. Paul’s in Woodstock, Ontario. She cherished her church family, especially her dear friend, Sandra Gosselin and her spiritual counsel, Rev. Ted Winter, Rev. Rob Luxton, and Rev. Mark Kinghan.
The family is deeply grateful to the medical team in Guelph; from the exceptional paramedics, to the doctor, nurse and social worker and community care coordinator in Guelph General Hospital, as well as the palliative care team who supported the family to care for Frances at home right up to the end. Thank you also to Care Coordinator Andrea Wood, Dr. Brodovsky, Nurse Kandice and PSW’s, Stephen, Kveta, Jenny and Lisa.
A private family service is being planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Old St. Paul’s Anglican Church for “The Inn” Woodstock, or Diabetes Canada in memory of Frances.
We are confident that Mom & Dad have reunited in love and can forever more rest peacefully in God’s presence.
