Beynen, Hendrina “Doreen” – It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen announce the passing of our Mom at the age of 95, on Friday, April 26, 2024 at The Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock.
Reunited with her loving husband Ted Beynen (2015) with whom she shared 67 years of marriage. Beloved mother of John (Betty), Donnie (Marie), Liz (Dave), Betty Ann (Lou), Thea (Johnny), Jerry (Heather), and Bill. Predeceased by her sons Barry (1958) and Tony (1970), as well as her 11 siblings. Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, with one on the way. Survived by 4 siblings in Holland. She will be fondly remembered by all her family in both Canada and Holland.
Mom lived for her family, coming to Canada as a young bride to make a new life in Canada. In her early 50’s she went back to school to become a Health Care Aid, which was perfect for her caring personality.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all the staff at The Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock, for all the care and support they gave Doreen during her stay.
Relative and friends will be received at the Smith-LeRoy Funeral Home, 69 Wellington St. N, Woodstock, on Tuesday, April 30, between 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1420 Devonshire Ave, Woodstock. Guests are invited to the Parish Hall for a reception following the service.
