Passed away suddenly on December 24, 2024 with her family by her side at the age of 83. Loving and devoted wife to Brian for over 58 years. The greatest mom to Shannon (Syl) Quenneville and James (Dawn). Cherished nana to Sierra (Joel) Lavergne, Sarah (Cameron) Sullivan, Angelia (Scott) Parent, and Alexandra Wilson. Special “GG” to Charleigh, Brook, Dalton, Corbin, and Reid. Loving daughter to the late Ann and James “Bud” Scarlett. Dear sister to Nancy (Bob Kirkpatrick) Scarlett, Tammy (Peter) Antaya, and Marty (Michelle) Scarlet. Penny will be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She will be remembered as “Nana Penny” having touched the lives of over 3 generations of students in her over 40 years of teaching. She had an incredible fondness for lavender, vanilla and lady bugs. Family and faith were everything to Penny, her laughter, kindness and joy of life will be remembered by all who knew her.
In following Penny’s wishes, cremation has taken place but please join her family for Memorial Visiting on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor from 1pm until time of Memorial Service at 4:30pm.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
