It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Milan on October 6, 2024 at 61 years of age.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Mileva (Dragicevic), his precious daughters Dragana (Nikola) Andic and Jelena (Matthew) and his adored grandson Milo.
Survived by his sister Rada (Milenko) Moravac and their children Igor (Leigha) and Mirna (John), his brother Dragan and son Milan and uncle Nikola in Switzerland.
Predeceased by his parents Ilija and Jela Vuletic. He leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, kumovi and friends around Canada, USA, Lika, Europe and Australia.
Born in Medak, Lika, Krajina at the foot of the Velebit mountain range. Milan grew up in this beautiful selo where he learned to appreciate the beauty of nature in all its glory. Here he played soccer in the fields in bare feet and learned to hunt. He always said he was a village man and learned his love for family and work ethic.
He finished school in Licki Osik and Rijeka and became a skilled lathe operator.
He immigrated to Canada in 1988 where his late uncle and aunt, Jovo and Marica Vuletic, opened up their home to him. Shortly after his arrival, he met his wife and best friend. His in-laws, Ilija and Jelica Dragicevic welcomed him as one of their own.
He was a hard working businessman with his company Lathe-Co for over 30 years. He made many friends and was respected by his suppliers.
Milan was happy to bring over his family and many friends to Canada. He was reunited with his sister in 1991 and father and brother in 1993. Milan started his own family in 1993. His daughters were his life. He always made sure his “bebe” got a kiss on the head and had money in their pockets. He shared this love with his precious Milo.
His love for hunting was brought over to Canada where he made new friends and enjoyed the outdoors. His canine buddies, Gari, Lisko and Louie spend many hours walking the fields for rabbits. Milan loved physical activity. He played with Windsor Serbs Soccer Club and other teams where he made life long friends around North America. He took pride in his physical fitness, being a longtime member at Lifestyles Fitness and competing in physique competitions.
Milan was a social butterfly. “Cika Milanese” enjoyed kafenisanje and hosting people at Milano Cafe. He would talk for hours about anything and everything, especially stories of back home, with anyone and everyone. He had an affinity for the village elders and could listen for hours to their stories. He was a huge joker and loved making the atmosphere light in any situation.
Milan had a big heart and made time for everyone. He was ready and willing to help all those in his life from family, friends and business colleagues. He made sure everyone was taken care of. lmao je srce za svakoga.
Now it is time for Milan to be taken care of in the loving arms of God and his parents.
