Obituary of Guy Joseph Ruzza

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Guy Ruzza at 62 years of age. Loving husband of 38 years to Lori (nee Rutt) Ruzza. Proud father to Tina (Rob) and Bianca (Devan). Loving Nonno to Olivia. Son of the late Sergio and Tina (nee Cardella) Ruzza. Dearest brother to Emma (Danilo) Toniolo. Brother-in-law to Joe Rutt, Steve Rutt and Donny Rutt. Son-in-law to Barbara (nee Churchill) Rutt. Cherished uncle to Sergio (Kristin) Toniolo and Danny (Stefania) Toniolo. Great uncle to Steven, Layne, Benjamin, Alessandra and Valentina. He will be missed and remembered by many cousins. Guy was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Canada with his parents and sister at the age of 12. He often reminisced about the “good ol’ days,” when he’d wake up to the smell of his mother’s pasta sauce and baked goods being made, and gathering around with all his family for a big Sunday lunch every week. Guy married his best friend and love of his life in 1985. He shared many important moments with her and was grateful to have her by his side all these years. He was a proud owner of Windsor Ravioli from 1981 to 1987, before working at Chrysler-Jefferson Assembly for 29 years. He enjoyed taking his daughters for car rides and late-night eats. Guy was always very generous, had a good sense of humour, a passion for rock-n-roll, and a big heart when it comes to animals. He spent his days with his cats, whom he deeply loved and cared for. Guy truly loved his family and made sure to always tell each of them how much he loved them. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (South Chapel), 3048 Dougall Ave., 519-253-7236 on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Guy may be made to Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or Diabetes Canada. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.windsorchapel.com
