Our devoted, lifesaving father and husband, Robert Michael Sukarukoff, better known as Bob, peacefully passed away at the age of 93 with his daughter Joanne, his son Brian, and his granddaughter Jamie at his bedside. Bob was deeply loved by his wife Shirley of 62 years. Shirley will forever be grateful for his devotion to her, and their children, and she will always cherish the memories that they made together. He was also cherished by his other daughters Pamela and Deborah. This journey together as a family was also lightened with the loving support from Tammy, Vince, and John. Bob was also an adored Papa to 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Bob was a very talented architect and he often used his skills to ensure that all his children received A’s on school projects. He also spent hours hand-making his grandchildren and great-grandchildren building blocks, Lincoln logs, and prized treasure chests. Papa always kept the bubblegum dispenser full, and his grandchildren never left his home empty handed. He’d slip a small Hotwheel car into their hand.
Bob has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 for 50 years and a proud Veteran of the 82nd Airborne 98 Field Artillery Battalion as a Paratrooper.
Donations in memory of Bob may be made to the RCL Branch 594.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial visitation on Friday December 13th, 2024 from 11am until Veteran’s Memorial Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran’s Memorial Service Committee at 12pm, at FAMILIES FIRST 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor. (519) 969-5841.
