Obituary of Jack Johnson
With sadness, the family of Jack Johnson announces his passing at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the age of 93. Jack is predeceased by his beloved wife, Marlys Kathleen (née Levoy) (2021). Loving father of Arlene Melanson (Anthony) and Harold Johnson (Cheryl). Proud Papa Jack of Natalie Melanson (Dave), Erik Melanson (Jennifer), Alayna Rule (Grant), Shawn Johnson and Heather Dobransky (Barry). Great-Papa Jack of Bryce (Jenna), Bailee (Madison, Ryder, Ryerson, Logan and Miley. Survived by his sister Joyce Hills. Also survived by his nieces and nephews.
In his early working years, Jack split his time between milk delivery and the Windsor Speedway as a ticket salesman. Later, he worked for years with Blondie Cleaners and was a crossing guard in Windsor until the age of 80. Jack was the family photographer, always having his camera out to document gatherings and adventures he took. He owned his own sailboat for many years and found enjoyment wading the waters of Lake Erie with Marlys. He was a hard worker, a dedicated fan of baseball and hockey, enjoyed being out and about, and appreciated a well-cooked meal. He was proud of his family and loved them very much. The memories he has left will be cherished forever.
A private interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Oldcastle.
The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Four Counties Health Services for the compassionate care they provided to Jack during his final days.
If desired, memorial contributions to the Four Counties Health Services Foundation would be appreciated.
