BOSS, Lois Kathleen (Kay) (nee: Diwell) – Surrounded by the love of her family, Kay passed away on January 16, at Linhaven Long-Term Care, at 79 years of age. She is now reunited with her husband Hugh. Loving mother to daughters Melodie (Mike) Dakin and Anita Kesimaat, and stepsons Maurice and Ben (Tania) Boss. Cherished grandmother of Sara and Zack Dakin, as well as Ashley (Josh) Awan, Brandon Boss, and Frank and Sabrina Zucchet. Her brothers and sister, Bob (Eleanor) Diwell, Barb (Ron) Rowland, and Eric (Marilyn) Pereira, as well as many nieces and nephews, will cherish their memories of Kay.
Kay enriched the lives around her with her infectious smile and her knack for story telling. She will be greatly missed by those who were lucky enough to know her. She spent her long career doing what she loved – teaching. Kay was an active member of Maranatha Reformed Church in Wainfleet for much of her life. Even when she could no longer attend services, she still called the congregation there her church family. Kay’s strong faith and beliefs assured her that we will all be reunited with her in heaven one day.
Special thanks go to the staff in the Lincoln Unit at Linhaven who have taken such good care of Kay over the past 15 months. No matter what role they played, every member of the staff showed tremendous care and concern for Kay and support for her daughters as they sat with her.
Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, January 29, at 12:00 p.m. at Maranatha Reformed Church in Wainfleet. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A private interment will follow. Light refreshments will be served during the visitation, but there will be no luncheon.
