Obituary of William Randolph Grant
William “Randy” Grant passed away on Monday November 11, 2024, at St Mary’s Hospital with loved ones by his side. We are truly thankful to all the excellent health care professionals who cared for Randy.
Randy was a remarkable person, who found joy in sharing the simple pleasures in life. He loved to play cards, watch movies, cheer on his beloved Steelers in the company of good friends, while delighting in sharing great food with them.
Randy has fond memories of attending a summer camp as a child, later returning as a counselor, flipping pancakes over an open fire much to the camper’s enjoyment. Randy married his high school sweetheart Mary Ellen (nee Morrow): They raised 2 children and also 2 nephews in Port Perry. He worked hard his whole life and had fond memories of family travel.
Randy was predeceased by his mother Irene, and brother Tommy. Randy is survived by Mary and his children Corey and Jacklyn, as well as his grandson Austin and brother Danny. He will be deeply missed his best friend Ellen Scott and the Scott family, as well as his many cousins and friends.
Randy freely gave his time love and support to those around him, always making them feel special. His presence was a gift, and his memory will forever be a blessing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Randy’s memory can be made to the YMCA at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home or at www.erbgood.com . A visitation will be held on Monday November 25th at 1pm followed by a memorial service at 2pm at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St S, Waterloo ON. Reception will follow.
