William Pete Chesney Obituary
William (Bill) Pete Chesney passed away peacefully with loving family at his side at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on June 30, in his 91st year. Cherished and adored husband of 53 years to Rosemary (Richmond). Loving and devoted father of Geoff, Amy (Dan Charleton) and Adam (Yuan Fang), proud grandfather of Hugh, Rose, George and Louise. Survived by in-laws Dorothy Chesney, Carolyn Gibbons, Janet Richmond, Roger and Barbara Richmond. Warmly remembered by nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, George, Florence (Lyttle), step-mother Pearl (Rich), brothers Jim (wives Rose, Anna) and Boyd, in-laws James Richmond, Geoffrey Richmond, Garry Gibbons, and Robert Richmond.
Bill was a caring and supportive husband and father who wholeheartedly embraced each and every passion of his wife and children. After a dedicated career at International Harvester/Navistar, he savoured having even more time for being with family and close friends. Bill loved appreciating nature’s beauty, taking walks on local trails and along the water’s edge, and feeding the birds in his backyard, where he always admired the changing seasons. Simple joys moved his gentle spirit deeply. His sparkling smile could warm anyone’s heart; his shining green eyes never ceased to bring peace. Such a sweet, kind man, he will be dearly missed and fondly remembered always.

Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 2 p.m. until the start of a Funeral Service at 3 p.m. followed with a reception in the Funeral Home Family Centre. Private interment Innerkip Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Joseph Brant Hospital or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
