Arie’s enthusiasm for ministry did not recognize traditional borders and his zeal for God’s call to bring justice to the oppressed was remarkable. From local endeavours, with Beginning’s Family Services to national and international ministries with Indigenous Christian Fellowship and refugee sponsorship and resettlement agencies, Arie worked tirelessly to make safe places for those most in need. His ministry was broad, persistent and creative. Over the years he has been honoured as instrumental in so many different and interesting initiatives and our communities have been made stronger through his conviction, courage and hard work, which he truly did for the glory of God.
