Paul Tigchelaar Obituary
PAUL TIGCHELAAR, on April 11, 2024, in his 72nd year; in fulfillment of a not-so-secret wish, our brother passed peacefully in “The Haven,” his beloved Hamilton home. He will be deeply missed by all his siblings: Stuart and his wife Susan (Montréal); Saundra and her husband John (North Gower, ON); Richard (Hamilton); Marcia and her husband Roger (Andover, MA); Peter and his wife Cheryl (Hamilton); James and his wife Rebekah (Vancouver). He will also be missed by his 30 nieces and nephews and their children throughout Canada, the US, the Netherlands and Nicaragua.
In our sadness we rejoice that he is joining our parents, Bob and Martha, his predeceased siblings, Denise, Robert, John and Maynard, along with his Stillborn Twin. We’d also like to send out a special Thank You to Vitali and Diana Seniv, guardian angels from the Ukraine who watched out and cared for our brother throughout the final months of his sojourn.
Paul was a serious student of the Scriptures and devoted his later years to persistent prayer for his hometown, Hamilton. As a passionate Jesus-follower, his hope was firmly placed in the Saviour’s words: “I am the Resurrection and the Life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies.”
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at PHILPOTT MEMORIAL CHURCH, 84 York Blvd, Hamilton. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
