Patrick Pillai Obituary
Patrick Pillai, 80, of Waterdown, Ontario passed away on December 11, 2023 after a heart attack while hospitalized at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario.
Patrick was born on August 10, 1943 in Karachi, India (current day Pakistan). He was the youngest son of Anthony Pillai (Pune, India) and Maria Viswasamammal Pillai (Tiruchirappalli, India). He is predeceased by his parents and siblings Teresa, Joseph, Xavier, Michael, Philomena, and Anna. After Patrick graduated from St. Patrick’s School, he went on to obtain a
Bachelor’s Degree in Science from the University of Karachi. Soon after, he moved to Canada
to start a new adventure.
His life in Canada was blessed with the love of Alicija Pillai and their daughters Oliva (Jake) and Patricia (grandson Alex). He was also the mischievous little brother of Sophie Anthicques.
Patrick was the beloved uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and grand-nephews around the world. He will be particularly mourned by Samson (Rosalba), Maria (Sirosh), Cynthia (Hakim), Judy (John), Rebecca (Steffan), Francis, Aaron (Priya), Richard (Melissa), and their families. He was an active member of St. Thomas Parish in Waterdown and proud to be a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus (Sir Knight Patrick Pillai, Assembly Number 2580). He worked for many years at Burlington Die Castings (Burlington Technologies) in Burlington, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 7-9 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME 146 Mill St., North. A Memorial Mass will take place the following day, Saturday, December 16 at 11 a.m. at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH 715 Centre Rd., Waterdown. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
