Marion Heaver Obituary
Marion Heaver (nee Hepburn)
January 25, 1928 – March 2, 2024
Finally at peace and reunited with her cherished husband, Marion, known to family as Molly, passed away on Saturday, March 2 in her 97th year, at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital.
Predeceased by her husband George, siblings Robert (Bob) Hepburn and Maureen Frank, she will be fondly remembered by her children Robin (Linda), Glenna, Chris (Lisa) and Heidi. She was a beloved grandmother to Chris (Maggie), Scott (Bryanna), Trevor, Robin (Annie), Shaun (Kaleigh), Natasha (Sean) and Alyssa (Dustin). She was also the proud great-grandmother of 10: Mackenzie and Miles, Layla and Jordyn, Hudson and Hadley, Lucas and Liam, and Hayden and Mia.
Marion grew up in Glen Williams where she participated in many music festivals and performances. She went on to teach music at Glen Williams Public school and eventually became a Music Supervisor for the Halton School Board. Having lived many years in Oakville teaching piano and raising a busy family, Marion and George eventually retired to Collingwood. Here she became an active member of St. George’s Anglican Church participating in the choir and aiding in the organization of events most notably the annual “Garden Party” where she was a force to be reckoned with in the kitchen.
She loved to entertain and was famous for her dinner parties sometimes feeding upwards of 30 people at a sit-down dinner. Her “mom buns” were a family favourite but she was perhaps best known for her butter tarts; a treat coveted by all who knew her. However, her greatest love was her family and she always brightened at the prospect of a family gathering. Even when she was no longer able to host, having as much family around her as possible was sure to bring a smile to her face. She will be missed by many and will remain in our hearts always.
There will be a visitation at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Saturday, March 9th 2024 from 1-4 p.m., with short tributes by the family being shared at 3 p.m., for those who might wish to attend.
As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Toronto Sick Children’s Hospital, or The Salvation Army.
