Leonard “Len” Hordyk
Peacefully at Shalom Manor on Saturday, April 13, 2024, God called home Leonard “Len” Hordyk in his 85th year. He was predeceased by his loving and much-loved wife Catharina “Ena” (nee TeBrake) in 2019. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Karen (Brad) Walker, Kimberley Griffioen (Predeceased 2003) and Jack and Joanne Griffioen. Proud grandpa of Daniel Griffioen, Lauryn (Ryan) Zorn and Matthew Walker (Predeceased 2016). Great-grandfather “Grandpa” of Leah, Braeden, and Nolan Zorn who he adored and who brought him such joy. Loved brother and brother-in-law of John (Tina), Jenny (Sid†) Kaastra, Paul† (Sylvia), Bill (Betty), Audrey† (Bill) Teeuwsen and Nick (Corrie). He will also be remembered by the TeBrake Family and was uncle to many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many caregivers over the years and especially the staff at Shalom Manor – Mapleview for the exceptional care he received over the last 3 years.
Friends may visit with the family at BETHEL CRC, 616 Dundas St. E. (At Kerns Rd.) on Wednesday, April 17th from 6-8 p.m. Interment BURLINGTON MEMORIAL GARDENS, 3353 Guelph Line, Burlington on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10 a.m. followed with a Celebration of Len’s life at BETHEL CRC starting at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shalom Garden’s in Grimsby, Hamilton District Christian High School or Trinity Christian School in Burlington as expressions of sympathy.
