It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ken Sheppard, who passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by the love of his family.
Ken was a long-time resident of Bullock’s Corners/Greensville and Lynden, ON. He was a caring husband and father who was devoted to his family. He was outgoing, cheerful and always available to help others when needed.
Cherished husband of Nora (Bierman) for 54 years. Loving father of Evelyn, Neil, Jacob (Jane) and Melissa (Brad Whetham) and proud grandfather of Shayla, Ava, Connor, Kyrstin (Riley), Brayden and Emma. Great-grandfather of Malayah. Son of the late Benjamin and Ella Sheppard. Brother of the late Dr. Douglas (the late Willemien), Frances (Zigmund Parkin), the late Marvin (the late Joan Breckles), Ruth (John Hughes), Helen Valenzuela (Fulvio Michelazzi), Madlyn (Dr. Leslie Bradley) and Doreen Johnson. Brother-in-law of Rob and Pat Bierman and family, the late Jenny Borsuk (Ray Borsuk and family), Mimi Van Gelder, and the late Fred Bierman (Karen and family).
Always active, Ken lived life to the fullest. He was a 38 -year employee in the accounting department at TH&B Railway in Hamilton. For 50 years, he served as director of the Rockton Fair. He was a 50-year member of the Waterdown Masonic Lodge where he was a Past Master. Ken and Nora owned Kenora Acres Farm as well as other hobby properties. They loved spending time with their animals, livestock and racehorses around the farms.
Although he faced many health challenges late in life, he persevered, without complaint, blessed by the unwavering care given by Nora. Ken will be missed by many neighbours and friends in Canada and in the Netherlands.
