Joseph Jedryk Obituary
Joseph Jedryk peacefully passed away, at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton, on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the age of 84. He will be missed dearly by his beloved wife Barbara of fifty-nine years, son Peter & Ana and grandchildren Nicholas & Matteus. Predeceased by his parents Wojciech & Zofia Jędrszczyk and his brother Wojciech and sister in-law Genowefa, his brothers-in-law Wladysław and Jan. Survived by his brother Wiesław (Barbara) and sister-in-law Maria, and brother in-law Stanisław (Walentyna). Joseph will be missed by many family members and friends both here in Canada and Poland.
Joseph was born in Mistrzejowice, Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1981. His family was greeted by Polish community in Oakville when they first arrived and initially settled. They called Burlington their home next, where they lived for many years. During these earlier years he enjoyed company of his friends where he often played his harmonica to the tune of his favourite songs. Eventually, Joseph and his wife found their perfect place in Waterdown, Ontario, where he enjoyed his garden, birds and all small beings that lived and visited there, but most of all he loved his dog(s) who brought him great joy. Joseph was an avid Wisła Kraków football club fan, always looked forward to watching soccer games discussing plays and game outcomes with his son.
The family wants to thank everyone for helping and visiting Joseph through his brief illness, you made a world of difference. Thank you to the firemen, paramedics, nurses and doctors and others for your kindness and help.
Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday, October 20th from 4:00 -6:30 P.M., Rosary will be said at 6:30 – 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. GABRIEL’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2261 Parkway Drive, Burlington (livestream available below), on Monday, October 21th at 1:30 P.M., Interment to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Waterdown. Celebration of Life will be held at parish hall following the Interment.
