With heavy hearts we announce that John Kaspar passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the age of 82 years. Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Tina (Her children Cassandra and Cody), Peggy Ann (Her son Tyler and grandson Hunter), Alan (His son David), and Brian (His children Brandon, Johnathon, Jessica, Grace and Kristen). Remembered by his former wife Betty Anne. Unc John to many nieces and nephews. John is reunited with his siblings Joe, Mary, Peter, Wally, Annie, Frank and Vicky, and his mother Anna and father Frank. Will be forever remembered by his girlfriend Tammy Taylor of the past 31 years, and her daughter Krystal, and her husband Ryan Pfau. We will all miss you my Cowboy.
Proudly served with the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, 1st Battalion and was posted in Deilinghofen, Germany from 1960 – 1964 where he received the nickname “Spooks”. Lifetime Member with over 40 years with the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterdown Branch #551 serving in various roles over the years; 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Sergeant-at-Arms, Poppy Chairman, House Chairman and various other committees. Played all Legion Sports including Darts, Euchre, Pool, Golf, Horseshoes, and Bowling. Played on many teams including Steel City Men’s Dart Leagues. For his civilian career he worked as a heavy machine operator with King Paving and Dufferin Aggregates.
Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the start of a Legion Service at 11 a.m. Reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterdown Branch #551, 79 Hamilton St. N., Waterdown. Cremation has taken place.
