Joan Marie Hunt (nee Coverdale) Obituary
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Joan Hunt on October 13, 2024 at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. Beloved wife to Donald Robert Hunt for 61 years. Daughter of the late Bruce and Zelma (nee Ayton) Coverdale. Cherished mother to Donald (Jennifer), and Kimberley (Richard), and grandmother to Zachary (Laken), Jourdain and Benjamin Piette, and Olivia Hunt.
Joan will be remembered by her sister-in-law Shirley (Steve) Bottaro. Predeceased by her sister, Margaret (Eugene) Coulter and an infant brother.
Joan will be remembered as a very proud Grandmother to 4 grandchildren and as the Queen of Preserves including pickles, jams, and jellies. She was a very creative wedding cake decorator and a very honoured member of the Major 7 band as well as a member of the Grace United Church Choir.
Friends may visit with Joan’s family on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown. Visitation will also take place the following day, Friday, November 1, 2024 from 11 a.m. up until the time of the Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at the Funeral Home. A Reception will take place with Interment at BETHEL MEMORIAL CEMETERY, 1172 Britannia Rd., Burlington, to follow.
A very special thanks to the staff of the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital. Especially Nurse Teresa on the Palliative care ward for her exemplary compassionate care of Joan and the entire Hunt Family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethel Memorial Chapel and Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
