It is with extremely heavy hearts our family announces the unexpected passing of our loving, devoted husband, father, papa, son and brother after succumbing to sudden heart failure.
Greg was a cherished husband to Sandra McVeety, devoted father to Alex (Amanda), Braden, and Elijah. Dedicated step father to Jacob, Joshua (Cherry) and Zachary (Kayla). Loving Papa
to Mira Jane, Ridley, Ava, Olivia, Cruz, Forrest and Zoey. Adoring son of Mike and Gail. Loving brother to Mike and Melissa. Respected nephew to Rhea and Terry Watkins and Trisha and Geoff Dewhurst. Mentor to Cris, Tracey, Jamie, Steven and Marlo.
Greg was privileged to be a long-term employee at Lancaster Inc. where he worked closely with Blair and Randy, with whom he valued as extended family.
Greg also found great joy working on his hobby farm, aka his “happy place”. Feeding and nurturing the chickens, rabbits, turkeys, sheep and his dog Cleo was his pleasure after a long day’s work. And when the rest of us grumble at cutting the lawn, Greg would happily and with pride spend hours on the mower until the job was complete.
All things cars!! Fixing, selling, local racing and NASCAR were significant interests in Greg’s life with whom he shared with his youngest son, Elijah. And with his family, he loved sharing summer and Christmas vacations in Restoule. And with everyone, he readily shared nostalgic stories with his keen memory of family fun and Ancaster antics.
Greg will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Mom will especially miss his hugs and Dad will especially miss their solo chats.
A private viewing and cremation have taken place. A family Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
