Elizabeth “Betty” Dixon Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Victoria Gardens, Hamilton on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in her 89th year. Betty was predeceased by her parents Annie (Borland) and George Carruthers, her son Rob Dixon, her daughter-in-law Patti Dixon, her granddaughter Melissa DenHollander, and her great-grandchildren Emma, Ella, and Alana. Betty is survived by her husband Thomas Dixon, her children Thomas (Sylvia) Dixon, Rosemarie (Scott) Russell, Wendy (Rob) VanZeben, Graham Dixon, and Michelle (Dave) Krick. She was blessed by her 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Tom and Betty resided on Progreston Road in Carlisle for 58 years. Betty was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 551 Waterdown. She was also Secretary Treasurer of the Town & Country League at Waterdown Lanes for 36 years. As an avid high average bowler, Betty rightfully claimed her share of local, regional, provincial and national championships. Betty retired after 40 years working in the financial services industry making an untold number of lifetime friendships. We know she was welcomed with open arms as she crossed into the light. Special appreciation to the staff at Victoria Gardens for their years of care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 7 p.m. A light reception will follow in the Family Centre.
