Janice (Jan) Marie Easton of Port Lambton passed away peacefully at Eden Villa in Chatham on Friday, January 26th, 2024 at the age of 81 with her family by her side. Jan was the daughter of the late Bruce Reginald & Mary Gertrude (Robertson) McKim. Predeceased by her beloved husband Alexander Joseph ‘Sandy’ Easton. Loved mother of Laurie Zimmer (Joe). Cherished grandmother of Katie Vilaranda (Sidney), Joey Zimmer (Alexis), Nick Zimmer (Kelsey) and great grandmother of Dean Vilaranda and Benjamin Zimmer. Dear sister of Michael McKim (Mary Alice) and aunt to many adored nieces and nephews. Jan began her career in the financial industry working at the Royal Bank of Canada in Strathroy and CIBC in Chatham and Wallaceburg. She was a dedicated support system for Sandy, the love of her life, during his education career and was active volunteering with many organizations. In her early years her passion lay in synchronized swimming, later finding enjoyment in tennis, curling and golf. They retired to their little piece of paradise on the Snye in Port Lambton where she enjoyed the sunsets and watching the boats cruise by every day. The family of Jan would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the incredibly compassionate and patient-centred care that she received from the team at Eden Villa especially Chad, Josh, Danielle, Kathleen, Emma, Jessica’s, Stephanie, Gloria, John and Lisa, the palliative care team Patricia and Jody and Dr. Saxena. Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Wednesday, January 31st from 11:00am – 1:00pm with the funeral to commence at 1:00pm. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Lambton with a time of fellowship and refreshment at the Cavanagh Reception to follow. If desired, donations to Chatham-Kent Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
