Robert John “Jack” Clarke of Walkerton passed away at home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in his 72nd year. Loving father of Daniel Clarke, and step-father of Dave, Greg and Connie McNeish, and Brode Geddes. He is survived by his brothers Tom and Don Clarke, and sister Ethel (Larry Poelman) Clarke.
John was raised on the family farm in Mitchell, Ontario. He spent most of his life working in factories, but enjoyed his custom birdhouse building business with wife Valerie Gillies the most. He always had a deep passion for small projects.
He lived out his last 20 years in Walkerton, Ontario. He loved helping neighbours with gardens, and anything else he could do. His final years were spent in the senior’s residence on Cayley Street, where he enjoyed sitting in the common rooms chatting with his neighbours, and going for walks down to the rail trail lookout. Anybody who spoke with him always left with lifted spirits.
He will be remembered for his plaid shirts, infectious smile and laughter, and for his sincere caring nature.
Friends and relatives are invited for a memorial visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Cameron’s in Walkerton.
