Carl Elwood Winger Obituary
Carl Elwood Winger, beloved husband of Betty for 66 years, went to be with the Lord on September 3, 2024. He is lovingly remembered by his children Bryan, Darlene and Brenda (Scott); his grandchildren Sean, Tim and Robert; Steve, Jake, Kevin, Holly and Sophie; Andrea and Jackson; and his great-grandsons Coby and Jude.
Carl was born in Ridgeway, Ontario, on June 12, 1936, to Earl and Viola Winger, the third of nine children.
While attending a one room schoolhouse Carl skipped two grades, allowing him to graduate from high school at the young age of 15. He later trained as a Chartered Accountant, taking correspondence courses while raising a family.
Carl enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, building model airplanes (and later Lego sets), attending air shows and most of all spending time with his family.
Carl will be remembered for spending his life caring for those he loved and he was well loved in return.
Visitation will take place on Friday, September 6th, 2024 from 6-8pm at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King St.) Memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 at 1pm in the chapel. Reception to follow in the Fireside Room.
