Elizabeth La-Ray Belford passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, in Vaughan on August 8th, 2024, leaving behind her beloved husband, Barry Kenneth Belford. Born in Hagersville, Ontario in 1933 to Roy and Edith Drinkwater, older sister to Donna Armstrong and 12 deceased siblings.
Elizabeth (Honey) had a long productive and happy life focussed on family, her beloved dogs, love of music (Elvis), entertaining, (she loved her Dom Perignon), as well as travelling south in the winter.
She married Barry Belford in Toronto in 1983. Their loving marriage lasted 41 years. Elizabeth (Honey) had seven children: Gord (Kathy), Debbie (Claude), Nancy (Eddie), Beth (Greg), and predeceased children (Ernie, Kathy and Doreen), and stepchildren: Linda, Steve, Paul and Barry Jr. She will be dearly missed by her 17 grandchildren, and 10 step grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She is also a much loved Aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth (Honey) was also known for her great kindness and compassion for others, She was well loved, and wlll be sorely missed by all who knew her, including Mickey and Dina Svircevik.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Celebration of Life is in the planning stages for a later date in September.
