It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Trudy’s peaceful passing on July 24, 2024, in her 77th year. Devoted wife to her late husband Robert (d.2023) and beloved mother to James (Catherine) and Charles (Carrie). Proud Grandma to her six grandchildren, Daniel, Tiffany, Sarah, Amber, Sabrina, and Jeffrey; and great-grandmother to Bailey and Bravery. Trudy leaves behind her brother Dan (Kim) McPhee, and her sisters-in-law Sue Burkimsher and Janet Towers. Trudy is predeceased by her parents Bruce and Bunny McPhee and her sister Mary-Ann (Jerry) Van den Heuval (d.2011).
Trudy enjoyed spending time on the beach in Barbados with Bob, camping trips to Bobcaygeon with the family, and recently trips to the Azores. She loved her Bernese Mountain Dogs (Drake), and spending time with her Gal Pals group. A dedicated and hard working mature student, she persevered through night school to earn her professional accounting designation (CMA), followed by a long and successful career at Thermadyne where she formed many deep and lasting friendships.
Trudy will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 3 – 5 p.m., and 7 – 9 p.m., where the Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow.
