Henderica Everaars (Hiddema)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Henderica “Rea” Everaars, on October 20, 2024, at Trent Valley Lodge in Trenton, Ontario.
Life Journey:
Rea immigrated to Canada from the province of Friesland in the Netherlands in 1951 and dedicated over seven decades to living and thriving in Kingston, Ontario. With her first husband, Sjoerd Hiddema, she joyfully brought into the world four children: Ann (and Tom) Andeweg, John (deceased) (and Sandy) Hiddema, Shelly (and Mike) Lacelle, and Krista Hiddema (and Nigel Osborne). Following Sjoerd’s passing in 1975, Rea found love again and married Aart Everaars in 1980. This union gave Rea the opportunity to become a step-mother to Nelly (and Tim) Dawson, Conrad (and Caroline) Everaars, and Amelia Everaars. Rea is survived by six of her children, as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her cherished twin sister and lifelong confidant, Jean Singor.
Contributions to Community:
Rea enriched her life through active participation in various community organizations. She found joy and fulfillment in her membership with the Kingston Coral Society, Melos Choir, and attendance at the First Christian Reformed Church of Kingston and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. A dedicated volunteer, Rea generously contributed her time and skills to the Kingston General Hospital gift shop, Bibles for Missions, and numerous other Christian organizations over many decades.
Celebration of Life:
To honor and celebrate Rea’s remarkable life, a memorial service will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Kingston, 310 Kingscourt Avenue, on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 at 11:00am
Arrangements are under the care of RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOME, 60 Division Street, Trenton (613-392-2111). To leave a condolence or to share memories of Rea, please visit rushnellfuneralhomes.com
