Ruth Shuster (nee Mendelsohn) – Peacefully in her sleep on Friday, August 16, 2024, in her ninety-third year. Dearly beloved wife and very best friend of the late Philip for sixty-eight years. Treasured and very devoted mother and mother-in-law of Harvey and Lucy Ann, Donna and Howard Cohen of Toronto. Loved and adored by her granddaughter Jessica. Dearest sister and sister-in-law of Shirley and the late Leonard Simand, the late Sheila and the late Mark Wiesenfeld; and sister-in-law of Anne and Stanley Schwartz of New Jersey, Roslyn and Marvin Arluk of Maryland, the late Edith and the late Arthur Greenblatt. Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Special thanks to her wonderful caregivers Kathy, Rona, Sherry, Dina and Ruthie for their exceptional care, compassion and friendship.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Monday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. Burial in the Adath Israel Poale Zedek Anshei Ozeroff Congregation Section, Baron de Hirsch Cemetery, de la Savane. Private shiva at her home in Montreal Monday and Tuesday. Should you wish to visit please contact the family. The remainder of shiva will not be private and will be held in Toronto at Donna’s home Thursday and Friday. The family will be receiving condolence visits on Sunday in Toronto.
