In her sleep at Sunnybrook on September 8th, 2024.
Born, Toronto, January 29th, 1930 to Genevieve Morrison and Henry Inglis. Predeceased by husband, F. Campbell and siblings Genevieve and Percy. Survived by sons Christopher (Marianne) and Alexander (Lina) and grandchildren Grace, Lukas, Emma and Tomás.
Naomi grew up in the Annex and attended Branksome Hall, an experience and a community that forever held a special place in her heart. Many summers were spent paddling a canoe at camp Tanamakoon in Algonquin Park. After graduation, Naomi had the opportunity to travel the world, sparking a life-long interest in exploring and adventure. Her wanderlust sated, Naomi clerked for Canada Permanent before working tirelessly to raise her family. She returned to the workforce as a clerk for Canadian Scene, a non-profit, multilingual news and information service, until its closure in 2000.
It’s been a long journey down the road of Alzheimer’s. It’s been too long since Naomi enjoyed monthly get-togethers with her pals; too long since she sat down to a game of bridge at the Toronto Hunt Club; and too long since she and her dogs ambled down the street enjoying a fine summer’s day.
We choose to remember Naomi’s infectious laugh; her seemingly endless supply of endearing expressions; cocktail hour over a shared bottle of wine; her love of animals large and small; evenings spent together watching Law & Order reruns, playing canasta and cribbage; and her unwavering interest in anything to do with the Royal Family.
Deepest gratitude to everyone in the K wing of Sunnybrook, to the staff at The Briton House, and to Home Instead for helping care for Naomi over the past 10 years.
Celebration of Life and reception to be held on Sunday, September 15th at 4:30 pm, at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. West, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the Toronto Humane Society.
