DROTOS, Emily Catherine –
Passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024, with her family at her side at her residence at Kipling Acres in Toronto, in her 94th year.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Sharon) in Florida and Diane (Jim Stewart) in Toronto. Grandsons are Dan (Maggie) in Florida, Jesse Stewart (Kaya) in Halifax and Nikolas Stewart (Megan) in California. Great-Grandchildren are Daniel Jr. and Emily, her namesake, Holden and Nora, and James. She is predeceased by her sister, Helen (Chickie) Bolton.
Emily was born in Niagara Falls and lived most of her life there. She moved to the Toronto area in her later years to be closer to her family. She was a quiet caring person whose love and kindness brought joy to all who knew her. She had a special gift for creating wonderful meals and desserts, which she lovingly prepared for celebrations and gatherings of family and friends. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome and loved.
She was also an avid lover of all animals and provided a caring home for many rescue dogs and cats over the years. In her retirement, she ran a Bed & Breakfast inn on River Road in Niagara Falls. She was such a gracious hostess that she was honored with the Tourism Ambassador Certificate from the Canadian government.
The family extends sincere thanks and gratitude to all of the staff at Kipling Acres over the many years that she lived there. They are true professionals and Emily would not have been with us this long if not for their love, caring and devoted support. We can’t thank you enough.
