Ann Rothwell Lush, neé Carruthers, 1938-2024
Ann died peacefully on 7 August 2024 at St. Michael’s Hospital in
Toronto. Her family and close friends were in attendance that day. She
is survived by her husband, Richard, son Piotr, sisters Elizabeth
(Buffy) and Sydney, as well as brother John, niece Jessica,
granddaughter Ripley (Isabelle), Richard’s children Sarah & Richard.
In her younger years Ann attended the Ontario College of Art and spent
most of her life painting and sketching. She loved art adding many
pierces to her own collection. Although well travelled, she adored and
delighted in her little home and garden. Her easy laughter invited
others to join her wonderful sense of humour. She had a soft spot for
spending time on Lake Koshlong (in the Haliburton area of Ontario),
where friends, cousins and extended family members met up and socialized
together, quite often in large groups. She has asked that her ashes be
sprinkled there. She lived a good life, full of experiences/adventures.
Most importantly she found true, equal and reciprocated love. She will
be sorely missed.
Ann did not want a funeral service. A small memorial meeting to
celebrate her life will therefor take place in late September. Once the
details have been worked out, notices will be sent.
