BIRENBAUM, Adela Sheila
It is with deep sadness that the family of Sheila Birenbaum announce that she passed peacefully in her 92nd year on December 5, 2024. Sheila was a loving wife to Abraham Birenbaum for 72 years. Born in London, England in 1932, Sheila spent some of the war years as a child evacuee and emigrated to Canada at the age of 15. Married at 19, Sheila along with her husband, raised three children and actively pursued a multitude of interests, including her artistic passions in beading, painting, quilting and needlepoint. She was a founding member of the Pomegranate Guild.
Sheila was the proud mother and mother-in-law of Shelley, Michael and Ruth, Brian and Rhona, devoted grandmother of Aaron and Yaffa, Noah and Harriet, Jonah and Olivia, and Sarah and Vlad, and great- grandmother of Miriam, Shayna, Moishe, Batsheva and Lyra. Loving daughter of the late Lewis and Jane Hyams. Sister and sister-in-law of the late: Nelson and Eva Hyams, Julius and Eileen Hyams, Golda Stessel, Pearl and Jack Granville. Sister- in-law to the late Sam Birenbaum and Gloria Pollock, Isaac and the late Marilyn Birenbaum, the late Lou Birenbaum and Sandy Bain.
