With immense pain in their hearts, the family of Yves Guillemette announces his peaceful passing on September 4th 2024 at the age of 68. Yves was born and raised in Timmins where he met the love of his life, Denise, with whom he spent 49 years. Together, they raised three amazing and loving children Lisa (Kenny), Amy (Alain), Bryan (Amy), and his incredibly cherished grandchildren James and Clara, who brought so much joy and happiness in his life.
He is survived by his brothers Jean-Come (Jeannine), Vianney (Liliane), and Roger (Michelle) as well as his beloved sister Lina (Gilles). Also left to mourn are his brothers-in-law Rheal (Darlene) and Robert, his sisters-in-law Paulette, Carole, Gisele (Tim) and Chantale, as well as family friend Murielle and many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Gertrude Guillemette, his parents-in-law Ronald and Rita Laroche, and his brothers-in-law Marcel, Normand, Denis, Wayne Power and Geatan Ouellet.
Yves was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman. His biggest passion was hunting and fishing which he enjoyed with his son and best friend Bryan. He always found peace and tranquility while surrounded by nature. He would dedicate all his time to family and friends who needed help and never expected anything in return. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his family – he was there without a question. He was also always there to protect his family in any given situation.
If you knew the real Yves, you would know about the joy and laughter that his presence would bring into a room. He always wanted to make people laugh and brighten their day with his spontaneous jokes. Most of all, Yves touched us all with his positivity, his generosity and his beautiful heart of gold.
He fought courageously a battle with pancreatic cancer in order to stay with us as long as possible. His faith was unshakable until the very end. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who was his undeniable strength throughout his journey. Although Earth is a little darker without him, Heaven is now a little brighter with him.
We wish to give special thanks to Amy and Nick from Bayshore whose compassion and care were beyond all we can express. We will be forever grateful to them. We would also like to thank Nancy, his care co-ordinator, who took special care of all his needs. Finally, we wish to thank Sharon, Joy and Jessica from the oncology team in Timmins who were compassionate and dedicated in providing him the best care and comfort throughout his treatments.
Please join us for a celebration of his life on Saturday, September 28th 2024 from 1pm to 4pm at the LESSARD Reception Centre. Donations to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or Ontario Wildlife Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences and donations can be made at www.lessardstephens.com
We will always miss him dearly and honor him in our way of living. Until we meet again, we love you infinitely.
