The family announces with great sorrow his passing on September 30th, 2023 in Ottawa at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Carole Hamelin. Loving father to Shaun (Kera), Chris (Melanie), and Derek Hamelin (Danielle). Cherished Pepere to Brendan, Mya, Aidan, Rhyla, Alex, Liam, Ben, and Hannah. Dear brother of Danny (Jean), Gerry (Trish), Lorraine (Roger), Denise, Richard (Ida), Kenny (Helene), Ronald (Sandy), and Lise (Mike). He will also be missed by the members of Savage family as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Paul and Jeannine Hamelin and his parents-in-law Charles and Alice Savage.
Robert had a passion for travelling, spending time in nature, as well as fishing. He was a devoted and hardworking instrumentation tech at CNL. He enjoyed having fun, trying out different gadgets, testing the latest technology and playing video games. Most of all, Robert cherished his grandchildren. We will always remember him having a smile on his face and being the greatest Pepere.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. in the LESSARD-STEPHENS RECEPTION CENTRE (located across the street from the Funeral Home). In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
